Our Production Process

We manage every aspect of your video project from script to screen. It’s our job to keep things moving forward so it comes in on time and on budget.

PLANNING: A strategic plan is developed for your video project. This includes determining what your end result is to be, the time frame you have to work with, and your overall budget. Once identified, a production schedule is drawn up for each phase of production.

CONCEPT: The concept takes everything into account: who your audience is, the venue where it will play, primary marketing goals, branding, and corporate image. Then working together, we’ll create a highly focused script. Now we are ready to go into production.

PRE-PRODUCTION: Camera format is determined – VariCam, P-2 cameras, XDcam, Red, DSLR, and for special effects, a GoPro camera; shooting locations are secured for as many days as needed; video crews and on-camera talent are booked; props and sets are built; a talent coach works with executives and on-camera talent to help deliver the most effective performance.

PRODUCTION: Lights, camera, action!

POST-PRODUCTION: Off-line editing takes the video, animation, graphics and scratch audio elements and fits them together. This results in a rough cut which gives you a good sense of pacing and content. When you approve the rough cut, we move to the on-line phase where the video levels are fine-tuned and scenes are color corrected. Editing Systems used are Final Cut Po, AVID Media Composer, and Smoke. Motion graphics and 3d modeling are done with After Effects, Motion, Shake, and Maya. The picture part of the video is now complete.

AUDIO POST: Original music, if requested, or library music is recorded and custom crafted. Voice over, interview clips, music, and sound effects are enhanced for optimum sound quality, mixed in stereo or surround sound, and recorded back onto the video. The production is now complete.

DUBBING: The project is put into its final format: dvd, blu-ray, web hosted, YouTube, Vimeo, or a digital file.
